Muyil - Quintana Roo - Mexico |
Muyil, Quintana Roo, Mexico is an ancient Maya site on the east coast of Yucatan, approximately 15 km south of Tulum and 90 km south of Cancun. Walter R. T. Witschey and Elia del Carmen Trejo Alvarado conducted archaeological research there in the 1980s and 1990s. The purpose of this site is to make available the results of the research, as well as information for tourists planning to visit the site. The section For visitors provides information about how to reach Muyil, how to tour it, and what to see. The section on Research is the author's dissertation, "The Archaeology of Muyil, Quintana Roo, Mexico, an Maya site on the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula."
The Maps section provides detailed site maps at several scales. The Databases section contains detailed information about artifacts recovered at the site, organized so that it may be downloaded and used for further analysis in a modern database system. |
