The first thousand years

            In prior chapters, my purpose was to introduce the Muyil site, to describe our field work at the site, to report the analyses of the ceramics and the architectural survey, and to discuss the research questions concerning sea access. In this final chapter, my purpose is to review the 1,850 years of settlement, development, and abandonment of the site.
